Asset Management Support Due to Rapid Growth

A hospital trust, part of one of the highest performing healthcare organizations in Europe, required the support of RGIS. The trust has a proven international reputation for its quality of care, information technology, clinical education, training and research, and has multiple sites employing more than 20,000 members of staff.

The hospital trust needed a solution to update the asset register as the current system was not set up for the rapid growth within the hospital, and was causing blind spots in the data. The hospital trust required RGIS to provide the following:

  • Created an enhanced base inventory program designed to correct the existing issues and improve asset tracking
  • The current tagging system was converted to a more efficient system to record the data required
  • Implemented the new asset tracking system across the 42 healthcare facilities which included hospitals, health centers, residential care facilities and adult tertiary rehabilitation

The hospital trust found by outsourcing the healthcare asset register update project to RGIS, the following results were achieved:

  • 25,000 assets counted over four months
  • New, efficient inventory program created and implemented
  • Electronic data return allowed for next-day reporting
  • Gave the hospital trust the insight necessary to make informed business decisions
